STEREO Weekly Meeting Minutes for 2026-04-07 (Week 15) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * None INSTRUMENT and SPACECRAFT STATUS -------------------------------- * Ahead is operating nominally. PLASTIC is in operational mode, but with a moderately higher than normal background rate. * Four years after the initial loss of communications anomaly with the Behind observatory, NASA has directed to cease periodic recovery operations with the last support on October 17, 2018. DISCUSSION AND OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS ------------------------------------- Week 14 (Mar 30 - Apr 5) * On day 089 (Mar 30), during the DSS-34 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 18:10 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of two frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 090 (Mar 31), during the DSS-65 support, turbo decoder lock was lost briefly at 06:16 and 06:19 UT. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 35 frames of SSR data. The MOPs team repositioned the SSR pointers during the support and recovered all the affected data. * On day 091 (Apr 1), APL network engineers successfully replaced the DMZ & IONET network firewall equipment at 11:00 UT. After the maintenance, the MOPs team verified the SLE telemetry and command connectivity with DSN. * On day 093 (Apr 3), during the DSS-65 support, commanding was delayed by 18 minutes until 04:58 UT, due to command modulation activating late. This anomaly resulted in the loss of 18 minutes of commanding. See DR #M118983 for more information. * On day 091 (Apr 1), the SECCHI instrument reset at 14:14:23 UT. The SECCHI team reconfigured the instrument to operational mode by 20:32 UT. This was the 90th reset of the SECCHI instrument on the Ahead observatory. * The average daily science data return for Ahead was 6.2 Gbits during this week. Week 15 (Apr 6-12) * Ahead has seventeen passes during the week, one at 720 kbps, and sixteen at 480 kbps, and overall coverage is nominal. The schedule for this week was modified to accommodate changes in DSN availability due to the Artemis II launch and unexpected maintenance on DSS 36. * An ESA Cebreros track is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8th, from 04:30 to 05:25 UT. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8th, from 07:05 to 09:10 UT. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Thursday, April 9th, from 14:45 to 18:45 UT. * An ESA Malargue track is scheduled for Saturday, April 11th, from 07:05 to 08:50 UT. * An ESA New Norcia track is scheduled for Sunday, April 12th, from 19:25-20:45.
